📜 The Tank Guide

Tanks rely on their abilities and defensive items to stay alive and control the flow of battle. Depending on the hero, a tank should combine skills and items to move around, draw aggro, and hold the frontline effectively.

‣ Early Game

Especially for tanks, you should purchase Sticks (up to three) and a Wand upgrade (at least one recommended) to quickly restore health and mana after enemy deaths.

For early wave clearing, purchase the Orb of Venom and upgrade it to the Orb of Corrosion, you can even use both of them for even more AoE damage. Blood Grenades may also help you.

Voodoo Mask provides essential lifesteal and can later be upgraded into Deathstone for better sustain.

Vanguard is another strong early option, offering a chance to block physical attacks and giving you durability to endure early waves.

‣ Mid Game

Shiva’s Armaments adds armor, AoE damage and debuffs enemies.

Radiance or Vermilion Robe provide additional AoE damage for clearing waves.

Every proper tank should aim for the Heart of Infested for a massive boost to health and regeneration.

Bloodstone offers a good source of magic lifesteal.

Octarine Core, later upgraded to Elysian Core, can give some heroes a great advantage since their abilities can trigger its effects.

Armor of Insight offers damage reduction and pairs perfectly with Vermilion Robe for maximum protection.

Some heroes can benefit from spell amplification for their abilities, Magic Scepter is heavily recommended for them.

‣ Late Game

Upgrade to Deathstone for better mana management, more spell lifesteal and its burst (dagon) damage.

Hallowed Chestguard provides great durability and damage reflection, while Exalted Heaven’s Halberd adds self-regeneration, evasion, and status resistance - perfect for any late-game tank.

If you have chosen to pick the Magic Scepter earlier, an upgrade is recommended.

Other optional items (for various builds)

Mjollnir, when used on yourself, converts incoming attacks into retaliatory damage.

With Glimmerdark Shield, you can shield your teammates, or take advantage of its passive ability that will keep you safe. Also provides decent stats.

Trident is great for its stats and amplifications it adds.

If you are not a fan of the Assault Wave ("Hypnosis" pull), you can always buy Linken's Sphere or Lotus Orb.

Arcane Blink can help moving around the map faster and gives some intelligence as well.
